New capital committee to scale Canadian Robotics

Canada has always been a powerhouse of robotics innovation, but no matter if you’re building a robot company or building a company that uses robots, access to capital can make all the difference!

Today, the Canadian Robotics Council (CRC) is thrilled to announce the official launch of our Capital Committee.

This initiative brings together a powerhouse coalition of Canadian investors representing over $12 B in venture assets under management, all with proven robotics investment track records. This committee has a singular mission: to work together with the rest of the CRC to make Canada the best place in the world to take risks in robotics. Our initial members are:

Why this matters: The robotics landscape is unique, requiring far more deep technical understanding as well as more upfront capital than software ventures. Our committee aims to:

✅ Scale Companies: Increase the amount of capital available to people building, and building with robots

✅ Speed Diligence: Bring investors the subject matter expertise they need to move at the speed of the market

✅ Support Founders: Connect founders with the experience, early adopters, funding, and supply chains they need to scale fast

We aren’t starting from scratch. Our founding members have already invested over $150 M in robotics companies, including leading rounds in globally known Canadian companies such as Clearpath Robotics, Haply Robotics, Kindred Systems, Avidbots, and Waabi.

"Canada is already a great place to be a robotics entrepreneur, but by building better connections between the robotics community and capital providers we are ensuring that ambitious Canadians are able to operate at a global scale, and do so faster than ever before" — Ryan Gariepy, Chair, Canadian Robotics Council

Help us build the Canadian robotics ecosystem! Join us in Toronto this fall, as a member, as part of our free registry, or follow us on LinkedIn for more cross-country event information.
